Values in Therapy, by Jenna LeJeune, Jason Luoma. This book goes waaay deep into values and how they shape meaning in our lives.
Beginner’s Guide to Polyvagal Theory, by Deb Dana. This short PDF is a good starting point for understanding the vagus nerve and its important role in our we perceive the world.
More Than Words, by John Howard and Stan Tatkin. DEFINITELY the most unlikely resource on this page. This book is about relationships, specifically romantic relationships. However, it is written for a lay person and I found it really helpful in unpacking how our subconscious plays into any relationship.
Never Split the Difference, by Chris Voss and Tahl Raz. An excellent book on negotiation but also interaction in general.
The Effective Executive, by Peter Drucker. Written in the 60s, it holds up with highly applicable wisdom nearly 60 years later.
